So, where are we…? We are fairly far along in the process, happily. The core set has been imagined and designed. The art and text has been created for the core set and I have several prototype decks being manufactured for testing. Happily, all decks are spoken for and I’ll start to get feedback as soon as I hand them out.

The drawing of a card is going to depend on the rewards of us parents. Me, for instance, getting to bed on time three days in a row will be worth a card draw. Getting a good grade, doing all their chores for the week, cleaning their room, a card draw every Monday, these are all valid reasons to earn a card. My hope is that the kids are willing to finish tasks and be well behaved enough to want a to draw cards. This will make life easier for us parents. And in turn, our children will be rewarded by the excitement of what surprise the next card has in store.
We have six card categories, each with their own border color for easy recognition:
“Adventure” cards are blue- cards that require participation of the parent and child for an extended period of time.
“Wish” cards are purple- more “quality of life” cards for the child.
“Parent” cards are black- cards to give a little fun and relief to us parents.
“Money” cards are green- they grant money, go figure.
“Time” cards are yellow- they grant extra time for in-game activities and wishes.
“Utility” cards are orange- to add a little complexity.
I’m excited to get my hands on the cards and see how they look and feel on a poker sized card. I should have them in a couple weeks…
